Karyn's career journey is marked by her growth as a communicator and leader. Karyn started her career as a technical writer, where she not only learned to write and speak clearly and intentionally, but also learned how to communicate across the organization. As the only technical writer for an Internet security company bought by Nokia, she quickly escalated to managing a team of writers and sitting on a cross-functional leadership team. This experience exposed her to the dynamics of various departments and the importance of effective communication in a corporate setting.

In 2014, Karyn took on the role of Global Project Director in the Office of the CTO at Riverbed Technology. Here, she discovered her talent for non-threatening communication and building trust across different functions and personalities. This skill is crucial in leadership roles, as trust and effective communication are vital for success. Her career continued to evolve, leading her to work directly with the General Manager of the Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit at Riverbed. This shift in focus saw her partnering with executive teams and taking on responsibilities related to strategy and leading organizational initiatives. Her role also involved coaching and listening to these leaders, highlighting her ability to connect with and guide people in leadership positions.

In 2019, Karyn joined a start-up as the Senior Director of Customer Success. Her responsibility was to help establish the Customer Success department, a role that requires exceptional communication skills, empathy, and a deep understanding of customer needs. Within this department, she leads several technical service groups, including Customer Training, Professional Services, Technical Marketing Engineering, and Technical Publications.
