Jim works out of San Jose, CA, has over 30 years of experience in the tech industry, managed many corporate transformations, and understands the pressures you operate. He is passionate about leadership growth and has coached hundreds of executives, enabling them to impact their teams, organizations, and careers positively. Observing some of the many beliefs that limit us, Jim has developed the 4 Quadrants of Leadership, a unique methodology to transition leaders into higher influential, more prominent roles, and sustainable success through:
We exist to make the world a better place - one courageous conversation, one liberating truth, and one great leader at a time.
I believe that my leadership style has been Affiliative/Servant providing a solid vision of value prioritization delivery and creating collaborative teams while supporting the various emotional needs. This has the core of my coaching style, which includes being authentic and transparent.
My clients say that I am Inquisitive, compassionate, direct, and open - helping my clients dig deep and find the hidden motivations, values, and desires driving them and potentially blocking them from achieving their goals.
I work with three-level leaders, generally in the technology industry or departments.
Here is a link to Avitars that was created a couple of years ago. They can use some updating. C-Suite - General I work with leaders new to the C-suite or has a C-suite experience in a new organization. This often falls into new position success coaching. Learning, re-organizing, up-leveling their leadership team, and change management are common goals in their vision. Generally an organization of 25 people and $5M in revenues or more.
Mid-level leadership (VPs, Directors) - Here people are generally looking to move upward or are feeling depleted and overworked. (look at the Miles can’t say No aviator). After working with C-Suite, they often feel a need to up-level the next level of leaders.
Emerging Leaders - People who the organization sees leadership potential and wants to develop. After working with Mid-level leadership they decide to grow their next level.
During the goal-setting stage, I have the client define what success looks like and how to measure it. It is never about measuring my success with a client; it is a client measuring their actions and success. Look at my L.E.A.D. Quadrants on the bottom of this document.
My highest strength is Individualism. I am adjusting my style to match the client's style and assisting them to look forward to the future and imagine what could be, then checking their style, helping them craft the following steps to make that future a reality.
