Trainer Fit Meetings: Guidelines and Expectations

On occasion, we have clients who are looking for workshop facilitation services through Exec. If you'd like to be considered for these opportunities, please reach out to your Exec representative. We have you go through a second interview that includes sharing an example of previous workshop content you've run.

If you are on our roster of facilitators, you may be invited to do a fit meeting with a client.

Before booking a workshop or training series with Exec, most clients prefer to meet the trainer to ensure a good fit. Given the significant investment typically involved in a workshop compared to a regular coaching session, this is a reasonable request.

Because these meetings do not involve any compensation for either the coach or Exec, we try to only book them when we are fairly certain that the client is ready to move forward with the training. That said, there is no guarantee a fit meeting will result in a booking for that particular coach.

Exec's Role

An Exec representative will join the call for continuity and to answer any logistical or account-related questions that the client may have. You'll be briefed on the opportunity ahead of time, and we generally see this as an opportunity for you to connect with the client.

Preparing for a Fit Meeting

Before the fit meeting, coaches should:

  1. Review available information about the training and the organization

  2. Research the LinkedIn profiles of key stakeholders attending the meeting

  3. Prepare a concise self-introduction highlighting relevant professional experience and qualifications (this is a good time to list specific accomplishments and namedrop other impressive brands you’ve worked with)

  4. Get yourself in a good mood to foster strong rapport with stakeholders.

What to do during the meeting

During the meeting coaches should:

  1. Listen attentively to the client's input and tailor their responses accordingly.

  2. Take detailed notes to complement those taken by Exec.

  3. Establish a strong rapport with the client to facilitate a successful working relationship.

What to avoid during the meeting

During the meeting coaches should not:

  1. Promote Exec, as that is our responsibility.

  2. Sell additional services beyond the training as this can be counterproductive.

  3. Talk about money, as Exec operates on a credit system. If necessary, Nick will handle financial questions.

Post-Meeting Steps

After the meeting, Exec will connect with the client about fit & next steps. If the client decides not to proceed, Exec will inform you. If the client confirms a good fit, Exec will coordinate with the you on the next steps to schedule the workshop.

Exec is a training platform that uses AI roleplays, call scoring, and live coaching to help teams practice and improve the conversations that drive their business.
